Bericht aan de bevolking ; Dames en heren, mocht u in laatste instantie nog op zoek zijn naar een young Piedmont - style guitarist voor uw tuinfeestje / concert of festival of bent u nu al bezig met de voorbereidingen van het een of ander muzikaal evenement voor 2011 dan raad ik u van harte aan ..... the one and only Phil Minissale. Hij  is met his smooth bridge between East Coast blues and contemporary folk songwriting ongetwijfeld de "Man For You"  !  Met zijn vorig album "Home To Me" (zie previous cd reviews) wist deze Long Island Blues Boy op iedereen die ook maar één gram sympathie heeft voor an outstanding fingerstyle acoustic guitarist & fantastic singer / songwriter indruk te maken. De vergelijkingen met Chris Smither, Bod Dylan en John Hammond zijn uiteraard door zijn mature, gravelly voice beïnvloedt maar het feit dat de prille twintiger voornamelijk with one foot in the folk and one foot in the blues geparkeerd staat zal ook wel een enorme rol spelen in die beoordeling. Phil Minissale (pronunciation ; Min - e - sally ) zat een poosje opgezadeld met een gebroken hart en voor een singer / songwriter is dat, hoe vreemd het misschien ook mag klinken, altijd een dankbaar thema .  De zoektocht "Go Find Yourself" en smeekbede "I Need a New Heart"  van  "The Young Fool" uit Stony Brook, New York levert zo maar eventjes dertien ** schitterende pareltjes op die uiteraard alleen maar handelen over love, loss,  heartache, hope and retribution. Minissale's uitzonderlijke  kwaliteit :  de wijze waarop hij explores the hurt, hatred and uneasiness of broken young love with aching lyrics and a guitar sound far - beyond his years is gewoonweg verbluffend ..."Let Me Explain", Phil Minissale is een oertalent !   (SWA)
